PTM2100 Mag’Impact – New technology in mobile processing

A new product type for processing mineral raw materials: the Prall-Tec PTM2100 Mag’Impact carries a vertical impact crusher from the well-known specialist Magotteaux. In stationary plant engineering, the Mag’Impact type has already proven itself many times over and is produced in several different sizes.

For use on a tracked chassis, Prall-Tec has adapted the smallest version with a diameter of 2100 mm. The diesel-electric plant features a John Deere engine with 9 liters of displacement and 300 kW of power. The drive is up to date and Tier V ready. In addition, the Mag’Impact vertical crusher itself is powered by a 450 kVA generator at 200 kW. A fully automatic plant control system with remote maintenance module and radio remote control rounds off the overall package. After a test phase of several months, the series-ready prototype of the plant has now been presented.

By installing the Magotteaux vertical impact crusher, Prall-Tec is opening up new possibilities in the production of chippings and crushed sand. Like the stationary variant, the Mag’Impact system is suitable for producing classified high-grade chippings. Both abrasive hard rock and limestone and gravel can be fed for the production of crushed sand. In addition to a perfect degree of size reduction, the proven technology of the international market and technology leader Magotteaux ensures an ideal cubic grain shape. This makes it possible to produce aggregates for high-quality concrete and asphalt products, among other things. According to the manufacturer, the 2100 version of the Magotteaux vertical crusher allows a maximum feed size of 80 mm. In the version of the tracked Prall-Tec PTM2100 Mag’Impact, throughput rates of around 120–150 t/h were forecast and, as the extensive test cycles show, achieved. From round quartz gravel to crushed basalt, the test plant has successfully proven itself with a wide variety of materials in practical use and met all requirements. Efficient recycling of track ballast is also part of the targeted range of applications. But even this does not exhaust the system’s possibilities. The Prall-Tec PTM2100 Mag’Impact is also suitable for processing in asphalt recycling, where tar-containing material can also be fed.

The main applications are the efficient processing of oversize material and the re-crushing of surplus quantities. In crushing campaigns at gravel plants, this makes it possible to turn 32/80 round gravel, for example, into quality chippings quickly, easily and reliably, whether 0/8 mm, 0/11 mm or 0/16 mm, to name just the most common main applications. With a total weight of only 32.5 t and a transport height of no more than 3.20 m, the Prall-Tec PTM2100 Mag’Impact can be transported on standard low-loaders. After more than six months of test use at a wide variety of sites, the plant has successfully demonstrated its suitability.
